Celebrating 25 Years of Ability
Can you believe it!
25 years ago the company that became Ability Technology first started. Since that time we have helped thousands of people with disabilities to be more independent, more productive and more connected, through computer-related technology.
During that period, we have seen lots of exciting developments in assistive technology, usually piggybacking on mainstream developments. We have also made significant contributions to the disability sector, through our research and information sharing.
We spend so much of our time looking forward – to new devices, new technologies, new frontiers – that we hardly ever get the chance to look back. But now we have that opportunity, and I think of the thousands of people Ability has helped over the past 25 years, and also to the many people and organisations that have shared the journey and supported our work in various ways.
It has been a wonderful and exciting journey! Thank you to all who have shared it with us!
